The Institute for Canadian Citizenship (ICC), Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), and the Ismaili Council for the Prairies hosted a ceremony to welcome 50 new Canadian citizens on April 11, 2018 in the Westwinds Jamatkhana social hall. This event was held in conjunction with the ICC’s 6 Degrees Calgary: Towards Resilience, a two-day session focused on creating truly inclusive societies.

Co-founders and co-chairs of the Institute for Canadian Citizenship, the Right Honourable Adrienne Clarkson and John Ralston Saul, addressed the new Canadians, along with Mayor Naheed Nenshi and President Fauzia Lalani of the Ismaili Council for the Prairies. Saul presided over the ceremony.
